The rhythmic chanting drifts on the warm Kumasi air. It’s Sunday morning and the Fundamental Baptist Church International is alive. A vibrant scene unfolds before you.
Fundamental Baptist Church International isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to faith. It’s a story of dedication and growth. It began in 2006. A team of missionaries arrived from the First Baptist Church of Hammond. Their leader was Dr Doug Kalapp. They established this church in Kumasi.
The church’s mission is clear: to make disciples for Jesus Christ. This involves saving souls baptizing converts and changing lives. It also means planting more churches. The church firmly believes in the King James Version of the Bible. This is their guide for doctrine and living. Their belief system is deeply rooted in scripture. They teach salvation is through faith in Christ alone. This is a core tenet of their faith.
In 2010 the church held its first service on its current property in Bohyen. This followed a celebratory parade from its original location in Bantama. A 1.8-mile journey of faith. This parade is still fondly remembered. It involved handing out invitations singing praises and spreading their message.
The church has seen remarkable growth. It has planted 38 daughter churches. Many stories of conversion and faith intertwine with the church’s history. Pastor Gyasi Boateng was one of the first converts. He later became a pastor himself. Pastor Rexford Aning another success story started a church in Fiapre. He also began a new work in Sosuano. These are just two examples of the church’s impact.
The 10th anniversary in 2016 was a significant event. The church invited daughter churches for a service. This included testimonies and preaching. They wanted to highlight the collective strength of their network. The anniversary also involved honoring longtime members. They also recognized the missionary families. Their work was pivotal to the church’s founding.
Today Fundamental Baptist Church International continues its mission. It’s a vibrant community. It serves the people of Kumasi and beyond. It exemplifies faith and dedication. It’s a place of worship. It’s also a place of community and growth. It’s a place where stories of faith continue to unfold. The chanting rises again. It’s a testament to the ongoing work of this remarkable church. The legacy of Fundamental Baptist Church International is clear. It’s one of unwavering faith perseverance and the boundless love of God.
