Established in 2016, Fulshear High School stands as a beacon of education. It is located in the heart of Fulshear Texas. This school is not just a building. It is a place where young minds are molded and futures are shaped.
Fulshear High School is part of the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. It serves the educational needs of Fulshear Weston Lakes and Simonton. The school’s location is 9302 Charger Way Fulshear Texas. Its geographic coordinates are 29.6975218°N and 95.8866857°W.
Do you know why it is named Fulshear High School? The school’s name honors the Fulshear family. They were among the first Anglo white settlers in Texas. A member of the family even fought in the Texas Revolution.
Imagine the school when it first opened its doors. In the fall of 2016 Fulshear High School welcomed its first students. Only grades 9 and 10 were present then. Grades 11 and 12 were added over the next two years. In December 2016 a dedication ceremony marked the school’s official opening. Daniel Ward was the first principal.
Let us talk about the school’s athletic achievements. Oschlor Flemming was the school’s first athletic director. He also served as the American football coach. He brought experience from Dulles High School and Guyer High School. The Fulshear football team began competing at the varsity level in 2018.
But that is not all. The Fulshear High School Charger Band has also achieved remarkable success. In its debut year the marching band won seven awards. These included “Best Percussion/Drumline in Class 4A” and “Outstanding Soloist in Class 4A”. The band continued its success. In 2018 they earned a “1” rank at UIL. They finished 10th overall in the state finals. Now they achieved BOA finals in 2024 at BOA Webster placing 12th in finals.
The school colors of Fulshear High School are regal purple and black. The students are known as the Chargers. The school had 2464 students in 2022-2023. The student to teacher ratio is 21.14.
