Frost Playground, established in 1957, sits within the Cooper Park Houses complex. This playground isn’t just swings and slides. It’s a tribute to a literary giant. Robert Frost, a four-time Pulitzer Prize winner, inspired the design. His poem “Fireflies in the Garden” comes alive in the fence décor. Look closely. You’ll see fireflies and stars. Words from the poem wind through the playground, leading you on a poetic journey. The playground’s design reflects Frost’s love of nature, a theme present in many of his works.
