Takera Narita created From A in 1986. It was for the second Lachine sculpture symposium. The symposium was called “L’an II – Lachine, carrefour de l’art et de l’industrie”. It took place on the Lachine Canal shores.
Narita diverts the column from its usual purpose. It no longer serves as a vertical support. By curving it, he changes its meaning. The circle represents the cycle of history.
