Founded in 1845 amidst the city’s bustling heart, Friends Central faced growth and relocation. In 1925, it found its permanent home on City Avenue, nestled in the Wistar Morris Estate, a sprawling estate that once served as a country retreat.
Today, the imposing main house, built in 1862, serves as the school’s administrative center, a cornerstone of this historic campus. Beyond the stately halls, Friends Central expanded its reach in 1988, acquiring the Montgomery School’s property to establish a dedicated Lower School on Old Gulph Road.
