Frieda-Stoppenbrink-Schule

In 2012, the Frieda-Stoppenbrink-Schule embarked on a new chapter. It merged with the Beratungsstelle Süderelbe/Finkenwerder. This resulted in the Regionalen Bildungs- und Beratungszentrum Süderelbe (ReBBZ). The Frieda-Stoppenbrink-Schule, now a part of the ReBBZ, focuses on education. It teaches students from grades 5 to 10. The school caters to students with special needs in language, learning, social-emotional development, and autism. The ReBBZ also has a counseling department. It provides support and guidance for school-related issues and challenges. The Frieda-Stoppenbrink-Schule prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere. Every student is welcomed regardless of their personal challenges. The school emphasizes qualified support for students with special educational needs. This covers learning, language, emotional and social development, and autism. Students at Frieda-Stoppenbrink-Schule are divided into learning groups. Grades 5 to 7 form one group. Grades 8 to 10 form another. The curriculum focuses on individualized and competency-oriented teaching. It also includes career preparation through the Kompass project and V-classes. These classes prepare students for the Erster Schulabschluss (lower secondary school leaving certificate) and Mittlerer Schulabschluss (intermediate secondary school leaving certificate). The Frieda-Stoppenbrink-Schule offers a wide range of educational and leisure activities. These range from small support groups and specialized classes to diverse sports and creative courses in the afternoon. The school operates on a full-day schedule, providing a comprehensive learning experience for its students.
