Here at the Denver campus on South Downing Street, you’ll find a space designed for connection and inspiration.
Flatirons Community Church’s journey began in Lafayette, Colorado, in 1997. Originally named Boulder Creek Community Church, it later became Coal Creek Community Church. Finally, it was renamed Flatirons Community Church. What started as a small gathering quickly grew. By 2013, weekly attendance reached 13,000. Today, Flatirons boasts an average weekly attendance of approximately 19,000 across its multiple campuses and online services.
The Denver campus of Flatirons Community Church found its permanent home in November 2016. Before that, the church met at the Paramount Theatre. Seeking a more stable presence, Flatirons invested $1.25 million in this building. The first service here was held on December 11.
What makes Flatirons Community Church unique? It’s the church’s approach to worship. Flatirons embraces modern worship music. Services feature contemporary songs and relevant bible teachings. You might even hear secular songs by popular bands. Queen, Imagine Dragons, and Coldplay are just a few examples. This inclusive approach draws a diverse crowd.
The church’s original location in Lafayette underwent a significant transformation. It was converted from former Albertsons and Walmart stores. The design aimed to create a warm atmosphere. It reflects the feel of a local feed and seed store. This aligns with Colorado’s love for the outdoors. The Lafayette auditorium can seat 4,000 people. It hosts high-energy Christian rock concerts.
Flatirons Community Church has expanded its reach beyond Lafayette and Denver. It has campuses in Genesee, Aurora, and Longmont. An online campus livestreams services too.
The Denver campus may be the smallest. But it reflects the church’s welcoming spirit. Flatirons Community Church hopes to continue growing. They envision churches all along the Front Range. The church welcomes everyone. They are committed to teaching what’s in the Bible.
Flatirons Community Church has become one of the largest churches in America. It ranked 11th by Outreach Magazine. Its Facebook page has over 40,000 followers. It continues to evolve and adapt.
