First Methodist Houston has a rich past. The first church building stood on Texas Avenue. Today, the Houston Chronicle Building occupies that site. In 1910, the congregation relocated to Main and Clay streets. Then, in 1993, the church expanded with a second campus. This Westchase location provides more worship opportunities. It also features a school and a recreational center. The center includes swimming pools and softball fields.
First Methodist Houston’s impact extends beyond its walls. Over the years, it founded several organizations. These include Wesley Community Center and Clarewood House Retirement Home.
