They met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Kay on Bayou Street, their voices echoing with hymns and prayers. Their faith was a beacon, guiding them through challenging times, and their desire to create a space for worship grew stronger with each passing day. In 1946, under the leadership of Reverend L.P. Pointer, Sr., they organized officially, and in 1950, they moved into their first permanent building on Grove and Baer. They didn’t stop there. Over the years, they expanded, their congregation growing, their influence spreading, their commitment to serving their community unwavering.
