Have you ever wondered what it takes to rebuild after a devastating hail storm? The First Mexican Baptist Church in San Antonio knows all too well. Located at 201 Meredith Drive, this vibrant church had its gym floor completely destroyed in 2019. They had to wait two long years for the insurance company to pay the claim before rebuilding. During that time, the church had to find alternative ways to carry on. You can almost feel the resilience of the community as you stand in front of the church. It’s a small, simple building with a big heart.
The First Mexican Baptist Church is much more than a place to pray. It’s a cornerstone in the community, providing much-needed services like a gymnasium, auditorium, and youth programs. This is where generations of families have gathered to celebrate life’s milestones, a place where faith and community come together.
More recently, the church underwent a major restoration effort. The gym floor is now a brand new Sport Court surface, offering better shock absorption and a multi-purpose space for basketball, volleyball, and even church events. The hard work and dedication of the First Mexican Baptist Church community are beautifully reflected in this stunning renovation. This church embodies a true spirit of perseverance.
