FGS Da Zhi is part of the Fo Guang Shan School of Buddhism. Its roots trace back to Taiwan since 1967. Master Hsing Yun a Buddhist monk established this branch. It’s one of many temples he founded.
The FGS Da Zhi temple was completed in 1994. It sits in Jenjarom a quiet town in Selangor. The temple occupies 16 acres of land. It serves as a hub for religious teachings and various activities.
People come here to pray. Others admire its grand architecture. Inside FGS Da Zhi you will find a meditation hall and a lecture hall. There is also a dining hall. The main prayer hall features a large Buddha statue.
Colorful flowers and trees line the walkways. They enhance the temple’s beauty. You can stroll through the Zen Garden. Take a moment for peace. Admire the carvings of the 18 Arhats. Also marvel at the 33 Bodhisattva statues.
FGS Da Zhi also has an art gallery. It displays Buddhist artifacts relics and calligraphy. Appreciate the intricate artwork. If you’re thirsty stop by the tea house. A souvenir shop offers mementos to take home.
The temple is known for its Lantern and Flora Festival. Digital lights lanterns and flotillas illuminate the grounds. This happens during Chinese New Year. The celebrations last for 15 days.
In 1999 FGS Da Zhi was listed as a religious tourist attraction. The Ministry of Tourism and Culture recognized it. In 2003 it won the Outstanding Scenery Award. Selangor’s Tourism Development Board presented it.
Visiting FGS Da Zhi is free. The temple is open from 10 am to 6 pm. During Chinese New Year it stays open later. Getting here is easiest by car. From Kuala Lumpur take the Federal or KESAS Highway towards Klang. Then head towards Banting. Buses are also available from Klang Sentral.
