Once, the Community Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church was named Greater Northside Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. It was founded June 18, 1967. The late Rev. R. Solomon Rose was the founder. Eighty-four people became charter members. They included adults and children. Auxiliaries, deacons, trustees, and officers were appointed. The church grew quickly.
That same year, they secured a loan. They purchased property at 2500 Campbell Street. Members renovated the building. Every Saturday evening, they cleaned. They prepared for Sunday worship. Those were exciting times.
