Once upon a time, a simple idea sparked a beacon of education. That beacon is now Faith Lutheran Junior and Senior High School. Founded in 1979, Faith Lutheran began its journey. It started as a small school. Today, Faith Lutheran is the largest non-public school in Nevada.

Faith Lutheran is located on South Hualapai Way in Summerlin, Nevada. It serves students in grades 6 through 12. Faith Lutheran is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The school’s mission is clear. It aims for everyone to be prepared and everyone to be saved.

In 1998, the high school students anticipated their new campus. Junior Jennifer Spann said, “All we can say is it’s about time.” The $10.5 million phase one of construction included 33 classrooms. It had enough space for 700 students. The new school included computer labs in every classroom. It also featured a 5,500-square-foot library.

Faith Lutheran continued to expand over the years. In 2017, the school added a classroom complex. This complex housed the Academy of Business & Entrepreneurship and the Academy of Film and Broadcast. In 2019, Faith Lutheran became the first school in Nevada. It had a varsity hockey team.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, graduation was unique. Students received diplomas at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. They even took a lap around the track. That same year, Faith Lutheran broke ground. It started construction on a new tennis complex.

Always innovating, Faith Lutheran opened a flight school in 2020. The Odor Family Flight Academy complex was built in 2022. It includes FAA-approved simulators. The school partners with 702 Aviation at North Las Vegas Airport.

In 2021, Faith Lutheran achieved another milestone. It was the first in Nevada. The school sent a team to the CyberPatriot national finals.

Faith Lutheran’s sports teams compete in Division 5A of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association. The school mascot is a Crusader. Men’s teams have won state championships in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, and track. Women’s teams have claimed state titles in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and swimming.

Faith Lutheran boasts notable alumni. These include Olympic gold medalist Bowe Becker and professional football player Dalton Kincaid. The school is also proud to have YouTube personality Brendan Jordan.

Today, Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School thrives. It is the largest Lutheran school in the United States. The school offers various programs. These include STEM, Flight, Justice & Advocacy, and more. Faith Lutheran continues to lead in academics. It prepares students for the future. The school equips high school students with Macbook Airs. Middle school students receive iPads. This allows students to use technology to learn even more.

Considered a top-ranked Nevada school, Faith Lutheran serves over 2,000 students. The acceptance rate is high at 90%. Faith Lutheran provides need-based financial aid and Nevada School Choice Scholarships. The school offers 18 sports. These opportunities help students find their passions.
