Can a church be both a refuge and a launching pad? At Faith Bible Church in Farmington, it absolutely can. This isn’t just a building. It’s a vibrant hub of faith, led by Pastor Scott Mikel since 2012. Faith Bible Church strives to live out its motto: “faith working through love”. This love extends to God, to each other within the church walls, and outwards to the wider community. Pastor Mikel, a familiar face in Farmington, having grown up in the area, is passionate about applying God’s word to everyday life. He believes in the transformative power of the gospel. He wants to see that power make a real difference in the community. One of the founding elders, Michael Adams, has seen Faith Bible Church grow from its very beginnings over 25 years ago. He and his wife, Kathy, have been part of the church family for 38 years. Michael’s background is as diverse as his faith. He served 28 years in the Detroit Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. He also holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Educational Leadership, as well as an advanced certificate from the School of Police Staff & Command. Now, he runs a home remodeling business. His experience brings a unique perspective to the church, reinforcing the belief that God’s word offers solutions to modern challenges. Faith Bible Church isn’t just about Sundays. It’s a place where faith is lived out daily, impacting lives both inside and outside its doors.
