In 1968, the Facultat de Ciències Econòmiques was established, laying the groundwork for what would become a leading institution. The Facultat d’Economia i Empresa, as it stands today, is the culmination of a merger between this faculty and the Escola Universitària d’Estudis Empresarials de Sabadell. Officially ratified in 2009, this union created a powerhouse of economic and business education in Barcelona. The Facultat d’Economia i Empresa stands as a testament to a rich history of collaboration and growth. The original Escola de Comerç, founded in Sabadell in 1942, played a crucial role in this story. Backed by the city council, local banks, and industry guilds, this school eventually evolved into the Escola Universitària d’Estudis Empresarials. This institution, along with the Facultat de Ciències Econòmiques, forged a path of synergistic partnerships before finally merging. The Facultat d’Economia i Empresa, located on the UAB Bellaterra Campus, carries the torch of its predecessors, offering a wide range of programs. From Business Administration and Economics to specialized degrees in Accounting and Finance, and Business and Technology, the Facultat continues to adapt and evolve. The Facultat d’Economia i Empresa also embraces internationalization, offering courses in English for both Business Administration and Economics. This commitment ensures graduates are prepared for the global economy.
