Could a flexible collective redefine the traditional art market? That’s the question Faction Art Projects set out to answer. Faction Art Projects launched in February 2018. Lina Puerta’s tapestries brought the labor of summertime into visibility. She combined lace, beads, and organic materials. Her tapestries evoked the exuberance of summertime. She was a recipient of the Sustainability Award at Artprize-8 in 2016.
Faction Art Projects also presented “Harlem Perspectives II.” This annual exhibition celebrated local talent from Harlem and uptown New York. It showcased artists who deconstructed history through their art. Artists included Coby Kennedy, David C. Terry, and Elan Cadiz. Kennedy Yanko, Patrick Alston, and Tammy Nguyen were also featured.
