EXPO DUBAI’s theme, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” resonated through three districts: Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability. Imagine exploring the 438-hectare site, larger than 600 football fields. EXPO DUBAI offered a glimpse into the future, a stage where nations showcased their innovations, from sustainable architecture to space exploration. The heart of EXPO DUBAI pulsed in Al Wasl Plaza, the world’s largest single-span dome, its name a historical reference to Dubai itself, meaning “connection.” The plaza hosted captivating performances, including artists like Andrea Bocelli, Ellie Goulding, and Lang Lang during the opening ceremony. Within EXPO DUBAI’s thematic districts, architectural marvels awaited. Terra, the Sustainability Pavilion, a 130-meter wide structure with 1,055 solar panels, aimed for net-zero energy and water use. Alif, the Mobility Pavilion, boasted the world’s largest passenger lift, capable of carrying over 160 people. The site transformed into Expo City Dubai, a sustainable urban development retaining iconic structures like the Al Wasl Dome. Terra became a children’s and science center, Alif an office building, and Mission Possible the Expo 2020 Museum.
