The Los Angeles Baptist City Mission Society wanted to reach Japanese immigrants. This was in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of East LA.
Evergreen Jang Ro Church has changed over the years. It has moved neighborhoods. The church even changed its name a few times. But God’s faithfulness has always been there.
Even during World War II, when the congregation faced mass incarceration, their spirit remained unbroken. They continued to pursue Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. Evergreen Jang Ro Church welcomes everyone. It invites you to become part of its vibrant story.
Today, Evergreen Jang Ro Church is involved in the Asian American faith community. The church offers many ministries. There are programs for infants and toddlers. Older kids can attend Sunday School. There is also a youth ministry for students in 6th through 12th grade. Students can discover faith and a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Evergreen Jang Ro Church also has programs for adults. JOY50+ is for those aged 50 and older. Prime Timers is for those 65 and older. There is a Men’s Ministry with breakfast and book discussions. The Open Door ministry welcomes LGBTQ+ Christians. There is also a Caregiver Support Group.
