Hope lives here. This is the Evangelischer Friedhof Methler. It’s more than a place of farewell. It is a place of memory. It’s a place of hope. We believe that God grants eternal life. We believe that we are safe in His hand.

The Evangelischer Friedhof Methler is closely tied to the Margaretenkirche. This church is almost 800 years old. It once stood at the center of the parish. Westick, Wasserkurl, and Methler belonged to this parish. Husen, Lanstrop, Niederaden, Oberaden, and Weddinghofen were also part of it.

The Evangelischer Friedhof Methler offers peace. Christians live by the power of hope. Jesus defeated death. He rose again. “The Lord is truly risen.” These words echo through the Evangelischer Friedhof Methler.

In 2020, the Landjugend Unna built a bee hotel here. Even the mayor helped. It was placed on the expanded area of the Evangelischer Friedhof Methler. That same evening, the first residents moved in. The Ev.-Luth. Kirchengemeinde Methler thanked the Landjugend for their work.

Have you seen the flower meadow? It is on the Evangelischer Friedhof Methler’s expanded area. There are beautiful flowers. Bees and butterflies thrive. J. Wortmann even created drone footage of it.

In spring 2020, a wildflower meadow began here. The local farmers and Landjugend Unna cooperated. The farmers prepared the soil. Then, the Landjugend spread the wildflower seeds. The area was 1000 square meters. We looked forward to the first blossoms.

The Kirchengemeinde is grateful for this project. They appreciate the collaboration. Visit the Evangelischer Friedhof Methler. Enjoy the developing flower meadow. Notice the life all around. Information signs are provided by the Landjugend.

To park at Evangelischer Friedhof Methler, use vom-Stein-Straße. From there, you can access the rear of the cemetery. To reach the chapel, walk across the grounds. You can also reach the chapel from Otto-Prein-Straße. But parking is limited there. You can also park at Margaretenkirche. It is a short walk to the Evangelischer Friedhof Methler.

The Friedhofsbüro is located in the Bodelschwingh-Haus. The Evangelischer Friedhof Methler’s caretaker is Stefan Friebertshäuser. The Friedhofsausschuss is headed by Nathali Boese.

Remember the words: “I live, and you shall live also.” They remind us of the promise. This promise sustains us at the Evangelischer Friedhof Methler.
