Founded in 1942 as Sporting Club Trois Étoiles during the French Protectorate, its creation was an act of defiance by a group of nationalists. Originally located in the Derb Ghalef district of Casablanca, it quickly became a hub for soccer fans and a symbol of local pride. One of the club’s founders, Mohamed Ben Hamou El Fakhri, was a prominent resistance figure. He unified three local clubs into a single, powerful entity. Étoile de la Jeunesse Sportive de Casablanca reached the Coupe du Maroc final in 1946, losing to AS Police. After Moroccan independence in 1956, El Fakhri clashed with authorities, refusing to surrender his weapons as a member of the Liberation Army. In a remarkable feat, Étoile de la Jeunesse Sportive de Casablanca won the Moroccan championship in 1959, during their first season in the top division. This victory was the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. However, the club’s triumph was short-lived. El Fakhri’s relationship with Crown Prince Moulay Hassan deteriorated. Amidst the political turmoil of 1963, El Fakhri was arrested and executed, a devastating blow to the club. Étoile de la Jeunesse Sportive de Casablanca was relegated the following season. They never fully recovered from the loss of their president. Despite its turbulent past, Étoile de la Jeunesse Sportive de Casablanca remains a respected name, particularly for its youth development programs.
