Opened in 2006. That’s the year the Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano began its story. It stands in Madrid. More precisely it is located at Real Madrid’s training center. This is outside the city in Valdebebas.

The Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano is named after the Real Madrid legend. Alfredo Di Stéfano played for Real Madrid from 1953 to 1964. He was a striker. Many considered him one of the best players ever.

Real Madrid won five European Cups with him. They also won eight Spanish league titles. Di Stéfano also coached Real Madrid in the 1980s and 1990s. He became honorary president in 2000. A statue of Di Stéfano stands next to the stadium.

The stadium serves as home for Real Madrid Castilla. This is Real Madrid’s reserve team. Real Madrid Femenino also uses the stadium. The stadium’s capacity is 6,000. The main stand on the west side holds 4,000. The eastern stand has 2,000 seats.

The inaugural match was special. Real Madrid played Stade de Reims. It marked the 50th anniversary of Real Madrid’s first European Cup win in 1956. Real Madrid won that inaugural match 6–1.

The stadium became more important in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic changed things. Real Madrid’s senior team played here. This was while the Santiago Bernabéu was renovated. The team played behind closed doors. Their first match was against Eibar. Real Madrid won 3–1.

The Spanish national team also played here. They won against Ukraine 4–0 in the UEFA Nations League. Real Madrid continued to play here without fans. This lasted through the 2020–21 season. The club returned to the Santiago Bernabéu for 2021–22.

The Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano has modern features. It includes undersoil heating. Environmentally friendly solar panels also feature. There are TV areas. Four booths are for TV commentators. Ten are for radio. Journalists have their own media center.

The stadium saw Spain play two UEFA Nations League matches. Spain defeated Ukraine 4-0. They also beat Switzerland 1-0.

Expansion is possible. The stadium could grow in the future. For now it remains a special place. It honors a Real Madrid legend. It also serves as a modern football venue. The Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano embodies Real Madrid’s spirit. It connects the past with the present. It looks forward to the future.
