The Escultura de Chillida before you is officially named Lugar de encuentros III. However it is more popularly known as La sirena varada. This translates to The Stranded Mermaid. It is a fitting name.
Eduardo Chillida one of Spain’s most famous sculptors created this artwork. He was born in San Sebastián in 1924. He died there in 2002. Chillida was known for integrating his works into open spaces.
