They all walked these halls. Even before the K-pop wave, Eonbuk nurtured talents like magician Choi Hyunwoo, actor Myung Sebin, and singers Kim Hyunchul and Joo Younghoon, and Kang Wonrae from Clon. The multipurpose auditorium, designed by IDR Architects, is a marvel of modern design. The architects wanted to create a space where children felt empowered, not confined by childish aesthetics. Light boxes protrude from the roof, illuminating the interior and creating a dynamic skyline. Inside, the space feels both expansive and intimate. The fragmented design creates a sense of tension and vitality. The auditorium stands on a piloti structure, with louvers gracefully connecting the bright light boxes and the shaded area below. Eonbuk Middle School is a testament to the Korean belief in the power of education. It’s a place where creativity blossoms, nurtured by thoughtful design and a rich legacy.
