Gothic lines reach for the sky. Emory Presbyterian Church stands as a beacon. It is not just a building. It is a testament to community, faith, and enduring spirit.
Emory Presbyterian Church began as a mission. Decatur Presbyterian Church started it in 1940. The community first met at the Emory Women’s Club Building. It was located on Haygood Drive. The church purchased property on North Decatur Road.
Architectural plans were drawn. They planned for a chapel and education building. The Gothic chapel sanctuary was finished in 1954. The education building followed in 1958. Originally, a larger sanctuary was considered. It would have been in front of the education building. It was never built.
In 1974, a magnificent pipe organ was installed. Gabriel Kney & Co., Ltd., from London, Ontario, Canada built it. Emory Presbyterian Church added a prayer labyrinth in 2002. It is on the front lawn.
The Emory Presbyterian Church sanctuary is a beautiful setting. It has a center aisle. Its acoustics are wonderful. It seats about 180 guests. The Fellowship Hall and kitchen are nearby. They can be used for rehearsal dinners and receptions. The church welcomes the marriage of all committed relationships. This includes same-gender relationships. It depends on scheduling and the needs of the couple and church staff.
Emory Presbyterian Church’s facilities are available for rent. The sanctuary hosts concerts and musical events. The Fellowship Hall hosts community gatherings, meetings, and social events. Some rooms on the second level are available for long-term rentals.
The Chalice Labyrinth is always open. It sits on the front lawn. It is a path for meditation and prayer. Between the buildings is a quiet outdoor sanctuary. This seating area is surrounded by a garden.
Emory Presbyterian Church is conveniently located. It is on North Decatur Road. It is near Emory University. It is next to Druid Hills High School. The PATH sidewalk crosses the property. It provides space for a preschool and playground. The church is a meeting place for many organizations. It holds many special events.
For over 75 years, Emory Presbyterian Church has shared the gospel. It does this through words and actions. It has been a vital part of the Emory, Druid Hills, and Decatur area. The church trusts in God. It looks forward to many more years of service.

Emory Presbyterian Church offers a Wine & Wisdom class series. The surrounding community is invited to attend. The Men’s Prayer Breakfast meets Tuesday mornings. They meet for coffee, breakfast, fellowship and prayer. The Emory Church has an active book club. All are welcome to join in.
