The year is 1963. A group of 86 faithful souls gathered in Euless, Texas. They were brought together by a shared vision – to establish a beacon of faith in their community. Thus Emmanuel Presbyterian Church was born. This wasn’t a grand cathedral with soaring arches. Their first sanctuary was a humble, condemned school auditorium. Their spirits weren’t dampened. They found strength and unity in their shared faith under the guidance of their first pastor, Rev. David Englehardt. They moved to a new building on Simmons Drive a year later. The master plan included a sanctuary, a Christian Education Building, and a Fellowship Hall. Only the Fellowship Hall was built. This didn’t deter the growing congregation of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. They adapted, finding ways to learn, worship, and grow together. Their journey reminds us that faith isn’t confined to bricks and mortar. It thrives wherever hearts seek connection and purpose.
