A new church a beacon of hope. That’s Emmanuel LEP in Manchester. Built in 2015 it stands proudly on Langworthy Road. It replaced St Ambrose Church a building with a rich history. St Ambrose was erected in 1910. Sadly it was destroyed during World War II. It was later reconsecrated in 1956. The congregation of St Ambrose eventually joined with the Salford Methodist Community Church. This formed a Local Ecumenical Partnership a significant step in interfaith collaboration. Their new home Emmanuel LEP was officially opened in 2015. The Rt Revd Chris Edmundson Bishop of Bolton and Revd Dr Keith Davies Chair of Manchester and Stockport Methodist District presided. Emmanuel LEP isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a vibrant hub for the community. It serves the Anglicans and Methodists of Weaste Seedley and Langworthy. It’s a center for worship community engagement and various local activities. The Emmanuel LEP continues the legacy of St Ambrose. It’s a testament to the enduring spirit of faith and community. It’s a place where people come together. It’s a symbol of unity and hope in the heart of Salford. So stand here with me and feel the warmth of this special place. This is Emmanuel LEP a place of spiritual significance and community heart.
