The Embassy of the Philippines in Riyadh wasn’t always located in Riyadh. It began its journey in Jeddah in 1973. Its first ambassador, Lininding Pangandaman, set up shop in the former Saudi capital. Eventually, a royal decree in 1983 called for all diplomatic missions to relocate to Riyadh. The Philippines secured land in 1985, and the embassy temporarily operated in the King Fahd Quarter while a new chancery was built in the Diplomatic Quarter. A multi-purpose hall, funded through the 2020 General Appropriations Act, was completed in February 2022 and inaugurated in June of the same year.
