In January 2025 the consulate partially reopened to the public. The passport and ID service is available. It is at the Residence of France in Tassiriki. Appointments are required on Tuesdays through Thursdays.

However the visa service is closed. It has been closed since the earthquake of December 17 2024. The Embassy of France is unable to receive visa applications until further notice. Visa applicants in Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands are advised to apply elsewhere.
