Elstorf itself is a charming village within Neu Wulmstorf, located in the Harburg district of Lower Saxony, Germany. This area is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region, showcasing the interconnectedness of these charming villages and the bustling city nearby. Neu Wulmstorf is an interesting municipality. It’s composed of several smaller villages, including Elstorf with its subsection Elstorf-Bachheide, and others like Rade, Rübke, and Schwiederstorf. Interestingly, Neu Wulmstorf wasn’t always known by that name. It officially changed its name from Wulmstorf to Neu Wulmstorf on December 11, 1964. This area is situated in a geographically diverse region. It lies between the vibrant city of Hamburg to the east and the marshlands of Altes Land to the north. To the southeast, you’ll find the Harburg Hills, while to the south lies Buchholz and the geest landscape, and Buxtehude is located to the west.
