In the heart of Nice stands the Église de la Madone des Grâces. It’s a church with a story as fascinating as its architecture. What you see before you isn’t the original structure. The first church on this site was built much earlier, around 1600. It was a much simpler affair, a small chapel dedicated to “Saint Marie du Puits”. This name, meaning “Saint Mary of the Well”, came from a nearby natural well. The Église de la Madone des Grâces as we know it today rose from these humble beginnings. Over time, it was expanded and renovated. In the late 19th century, a small marble altar was added. It gained recognition as a new parish in 1954. Today, the Église de la Madone des Grâces is a beautiful blend of history and faith, a testament to the enduring spirit of Nice.
