For evangelicals the most important thing is the salvation of the soul. Where will one spend eternity? Salvation is a free gift from God. One recognizes being a sinner. One accepts the gift of forgiveness. Jesus obtained this forgiveness on the cross. Salvation is not obtained by belonging to a group. It is not obtained by following laws or rituals.
Église Biblique Baptiste Métropolitaine Sud began in 1982. It is an independent church. It is fundamental. It wins souls. It has a heart to reach Greater Montréal for Christ. The congregation is multiethnic. Services are in French and English. They use the King James version in English. They use the Ostervald version in French. The congregation is very active. It has several ministries. These ministries aim at all groups and ages. They desire to meet everyone’s needs. The Lord allows and provides. They practice a holy walk. They are children of Light. They believe living a life separate to Christ honors God.

The Église Baptiste de l’Est merged with the Église Baptiste Évangélique d’Anjou in 2006. The Église Chrétienne Évangélique de l’Est was founded in 1960. It was the Église des Frères chrétiens du Québec. The church became “Baptist” in 1995. Gilles Lapierre became the full-time pastor. He is still one of the church elders.
