It began as the Modern School of Commerce. This was founded by Mr ER Addow in 1943. He started with only one student his son. The school initially focused on commerce. Subjects included typing shorthand and office practice.

In 1963 the school became a public institution. New subjects were added. This included math English language science and accounting. The school’s name changed to Effiduase Secondary Commercial School.

Mr Addow handed the school over in 1973. It moved to its current location. This land was donated by the Akrobeto and Kyidom families. The Effiduase Traditional Council approved the move.

Today Effiduase Senior High School offers many programs. These include business general arts general science home economics and visual arts. The school boasts a large staff and student body. Its alumni have achieved great things. They include university lecturers lawyers regional ministers and even chiefs.

Effiduase is also known for its large hospital. It serves the entire Sekyere East District. Many traders call Effiduase home. This contributes to its lively atmosphere.

The chief of Effiduase is Nana Adu Ameyaw II. He is also part of the Ashanti sub-traditional council. Effiduase continues to grow. It’s a vibrant center of commerce culture and education.
