Isn’t it amazing how a building can foster dreams? Right here stands the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Fes. It is one of Morocco’s most important architecture schools.
Since its creation in 2009, the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Fes has trained architects. They master techniques related to architecture. They also spread knowledge in their fields.
The school depends on the Ministry of National Territory Development. It also relies on the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy. The Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Fes is a public institution. It focuses on research and higher education.
Currently, the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Fes hosts over 400 students. These students are among the most deserving. About 5% come from other African countries. An admirable staff manages the school. This includes about 20 officials. There are also more than 80 talented professors. About 2% of them are of foreign nationalities.
In 2009, a partnership convention was signed in Fes. This was for creating a new National School of Architecture. Partners included the ENA of Rabat. The mayor of Fes was also a partner. So was the Regional Council of the Order of Architects of Fes. The convention detailed each party’s commitments. These commitments promoted complementary cooperation.
Initially, the school was an annex of the ENA of Rabat. It was later called the site of the ENA of Rabat. It was located on the second floor of the Municipal Library of Fes. This library was not yet open to the public. The space was renovated from July to September 2009.
On September 23, the premises were ready. They welcomed a limited number of students. Only 16 were admitted. They had enrolled and been selected at the ENA of Rabat. Two architecture workshops began that day. The official inauguration of the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Fes took place on October 12, 2009.
Various student clubs enrich the school’s environment. The Club ENART fosters creativity. It provides a space for artistic expression. Established and aspiring artists meet here. They share passions through workshops and exhibitions. They also enjoy film screenings.
The Club Arkey is a music platform. It offers students a space to express their passion. They develop talents and create bonds within the community. The Bureau des Sports promotes physical activity. It also focuses on well-being. It encourages students’ participation in sports events.
The club enaquest specializes in outdoor activities. It creates a space where students connect with nature. They strengthen bonds in a natural setting. Activities include hiking, camping, and trips. The club also focuses on environmental volunteer work. This includes tree planting and waste collection.
The Club Rotaract ENAF engages in community service. It focuses on personal development and leadership initiatives. The club undertakes projects that positively impact the local community.
Though the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Fes does not have on-site accommodation or a restaurant, its dynamic environment more than compensates for that.
So, as you stand before the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture de Fes, consider the countless dreams nurtured here. Think of the architects who will shape Morocco’s future. Their journey starts right here, within these walls.
