The church itself is part of a much larger network. The Methodist Church in Ireland boasts nearly 57000 members. Its roots stretch back to the Wesley brothers. John and Charles Wesley were Oxford University students. They were known for their methodical lives. This is why they were called Methodists. John Wesley visited Ireland twenty-one times. He preached in thirty-one of its thirty-two counties. His legacy resonates within these walls.
