Dunamis Church

Journey with me back to 1992. A small living room in Brisbane became the unlikely birthplace of a spiritual movement. This was the humble beginning of Dunamis Church. Pastors Shaun and Sandra Hansen, driven by a shared vision, held their first service right there, amidst the familiar comforts of home. Dunamis Church wasn’t meant to stay confined within those four walls. It was destined for something greater. The church is non-denominational and its pastors are associated with the Full Gospel Churches of Australia. Dunamis Church’s mission is clear: to extend God’s kingdom through soul winning, discipleship, and community influence. They envision establishing multiple Dunamis campuses, fostering leadership, and expanding their ministry. The church’s name, “Dunamis,” itself speaks volumes. It’s a Greek word signifying power, strength, and potential. This power isn’t about dominance, but about enabling individuals to transform their communities and live their true purpose. Over three decades later, Dunamis Church is a testament to the Hansens’ initial vision. They’ve overseen the establishment of several campuses across Queensland. Their leadership, rooted in the ethos of “sonship” and mentoring, focuses on empowering individuals within a supportive community. Dunamis Church invites everyone, regardless of background, to join their journey of faith. They believe in the power of the individual, backed by the strength of the church, to impact the world.
