Opened in 2005, Dubai International Academy aimed to be a beacon of international education. Dubai International Academy began its journey with a student body representing 55 nations. Today, Dubai International Academy thrives with over 2000 students hailing from more than 80 countries. This diversity is reflected in its faculty, with over 250 members drawn from 42 nationalities. Dubai International Academy was the first school in the UAE to fully embrace the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. This commitment to global perspectives extends beyond academics. Dubai International Academy hosts DIAMUN, the largest Model United Nations conference in the UAE. The conference attracts hundreds of students from around the world, engaging in diplomatic simulations and tackling global challenges. In 2015, over 900 students representing 53 schools and 17 countries participated. Dubai International Academy’s DIAMUN even earned recognition as the first paperless MUN conference, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability. This commitment is further exemplified by its “Water for Life” club, part of the Aqua Initiative, which combats water scarcity and celebrates World Water Day with fundraising activities. From academics to extracurriculars, Dubai International Academy strives to be a hub for international understanding and engagement. In 2015, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) awarded Dubai International Academy an “Outstanding” rating, a distinction shared by only 16 schools in Dubai at the time. This accomplishment highlighted Dubai International Academy’s dedication to high-quality education. The journey from a new school to an “Outstanding” institution underscores Dubai International Academy’s continuous pursuit of excellence in international education.
