The air, once thick with the aroma of malted barley and yeast, now carries a faint tremor of sadness. This was the heart of Drumcondra South Ward 1946. The distillery, known as the Jones Road Distillery, had been a landmark here since the 1870s. You could almost hear the echoes of clanking bottles and the murmur of workers. Drumcondra South Ward 1946 bore witness to the distillery’s closure, a sign of changing times. However, the spirit of the distillery lingered. The buildings, though repurposed, still held whispers of their past. The Corn Mill, The Granary, The Grainstore, Distillery Lofts – these names continued to echo the legacy of the D.W.D..
