Dive into a world of movie magic at DreamWorks Water Park. This isn’t just any water park. It is North America’s largest indoor water park. DreamWorks Water Park is located within the American Dream Meadowlands complex in East Rutherford New Jersey.

Imagine this. It is October 1 2020. The grand opening of DreamWorks Water Park. Finally after years of planning and some delays, the park opened its doors.

Spanning 8.5 acres, DreamWorks Water Park boasts 15 attractions and more than 40 water slides. Triple Five Group owns the water park under license from NBCUniversal.

The park’s history is tied to the American Dream mall. The mall was initially proposed as Meadowlands Mills in 1994. Financial challenges delayed its completion until Triple Five Group took over. They included an amusement park and a water park in the revised plans.

Jeffrey Katzenberg, DreamWorks Animation CEO, announced in 2012 that attractions would be DreamWorks-themed. Originally slated to open in 2019, DreamWorks Water Park faced several postponements. Finally, it opened in October 2020.

DreamWorks Water Park is themed around DreamWorks Animation franchises. There is a Shrek’s Soggy Swamp area. A Kung Fu Panda Zone caters to children. The Madagascar Rain Forest features 15 water slides. ProSlide Technology exclusively developed all the water slides.

Don’t miss the 1.5-acre wave pool. It holds 1.5 million gallons of water. A lazy river winds through Shrek-themed scenery. For thrill-seekers, there are dueling slides. They feature a 50-foot free fall.

The Trolls Rainbow Racer is a renamed version of the Dragon Racers. The DreamWorks Dream Runner used to be Toothless Trickling Torpedo.

For a touch of luxury, rent one of the 31 cabanas. Interior designer Jonathan Adler designed them. Themed decorations include balloons of Shrek and Donkey. Alex and Marty from Madagascar also make appearances.

Keep an eye out for daily appearances by characters. Shrek, Puss In Boots, Alex the Lion, and the Penguins of Madagascar are there. Po, Poppy, and Branch from Trolls also visit.

DreamWorks Water Park offers a variety of rides. There is the Mad Flush body bowl slide. Relax in the Bubbly Lazy River. Brave the waves at Far Far A Bay wave pool. Unwind in the Forbidden Waters hot tubs. Enjoy a drink at King Julien’s Pineapple Jam swim-up bar.

Kids will love the Kung Fu Panda Temple of Awesomeness play structure. Ride the Dragon and Donkey’s Flight family raft slide. Race down the Trolls Rainbow Racer. Try the Lemur Leap tube bowl slide. Experience the Speeding Frenzy tube slide. Plunge on Penguins Plummet and Majunga Jump. Test your courage on Thrillagascar and Jungle Jammer. Finally, swirl through The Carnivortex.

DreamWorks Water Park combines thrilling rides with beloved characters. It is a unique destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. Get ready for a day of unforgettable fun.
