Ever seen a fire-breathing dragon?

Right here in Da Nang Vietnam stands the Dragon Bridge. It is more than just a way to cross the Han River. The Dragon Bridge is a symbol of Da Nang’s ambition. It also represents its connection to the world.

This incredible bridge is 666 meters long. It has six lanes for traffic. Imagine that the Dragon Bridge first opened on March 29 2013. The cost was nearly 1.5 trillion VND equivalent to 88 million US dollars.

The Dragon Bridge’s design is unique. It represents a dragon from the Ly Dynasty. This dragon is not just any dragon. This one breathes fire and water.

The Dragon Bridge provides a direct route. It links Da Nang International Airport to main roads and beaches. This makes travel easier for everyone.

Two US architects designed the Dragon Bridge. They won a competition to create the most exclusive bridge design. Their vision of a flying dragon came to life. The construction was handled by local companies. Company No. 508 and Bridge Company No. 75 worked hard on it. Civil Engineering Corporation No. 1 built the main parts.

The main span was finished on October 26 2012. The Dragon Bridge officially opened on March 29 2013. This date marked the 38th anniversary. It celebrated the liberation of Da Nang.

Look closely at the dragon’s tail. It features a blooming lotus flower. The lotus is a traditional Vietnamese symbol. It represents peace. The dragon’s body moves towards the sea. This shows Da Nang’s desire to connect globally.

The Dragon Bridge has five layers of coating. These protect it from weather damage. They also give it a golden color. Nighttime is the best time to view Dragon Bridge. Fifteen thousand LED lights illuminate it. The Dragon Bridge becomes a dazzling spectacle.

But the real magic happens on weekends. Every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM the Dragon Bridge comes alive. It breathes fire and sprays water. The fire show includes two turns. Each turn features nine bursts of fire. The water show follows. It has three turns with one water spray each. People gather to witness this amazing display.

The Dragon Bridge also plays a role. It is part of the Da Nang International Firework Festival. This annual event attracts competitors worldwide. The Dragon Bridge offers a great view of the fireworks.

So the Dragon Bridge is not just concrete and steel. It is a living breathing landmark. It embodies Da Nang’s spirit and progress. Remember to return on Saturday or Sunday night at 9pm to witness the fire-breathing performance.
