“This statue seems so real,” a voice whispered beside me. We are standing here, together, at the foot of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Statue in Hermann Park. This bronze testament to a man who fought tirelessly for equality and justice. Crafted by the talented Ed Dwight, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Statue is more than just a figure frozen in time. It’s a beacon of hope, a symbol of the ongoing struggle for civil rights. Sadly, even this symbol of peace wasn’t immune to the ugliness of prejudice. In 2017, the statue was defaced with white paint, a stark reminder that the fight for equality is far from over. Despite this act of hatred, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Statue continues to stand tall, a powerful reminder of Dr. King’s legacy and the importance of continuing his dream.
Hauptfriedhof
Lost in time stands the Hauptfriedhof Trier. A tranquil expanse in the bustling city it’s more than just a cemetery.
