Centuries whisper within these ancient stones. The Dorfkirche Lindenberg stands as a testament to time. It is a place where history and faith intertwine.

This church started as a late Romanesque building. Later, it was rebuilt in the Gothic style. The Dorfkirche Lindenberg is in the Lindenberg district of Ahrensfelde. This is in the Barnim district of Brandenburg. The church belongs to the Blumberg parish. It is part of the Berlin North-East church district.

The Dorfkirche Lindenberg welcomes visitors by appointment. Its history is etched in its very stones. The church is a fieldstone hall with a retracted choir and apse. A stately west tower adds to its presence. This tower dates back to the first half of the 13th century. In the 15th century, the church was vaulted.

The upper part of the tower likely dates from the 14th century. It features irregular masonry. A gable roof tops it. A late Gothic sacristy is attached to the north of the choir. It has a simple blind gable. The interior was renovated several times.

All openings were enlarged in pointed arches. This happened between 1860 and 1864. Two circular windows were added in the north. The high, narrow arched windows had already been closed. This happened during the vaulting.

The Dorfkirche Lindenberg is accessed through a triple-stepped round arch portal. It is on the west side. The south and north portals are walled up. Corners, rectangular panels, and gables adorn the upper part of the tower. These are made of brick.

Inside, pointed arches divide the space. Rich net vaults with pear rod ribs cover the choir and nave. The nave rests on six figural consoles. The choir rests on simple conical corbels. Painted keystones add color. Pointed arch panels reinforce the ship walls. The arched opening to the tower is walled up.

A mural in the apse calotte depicts Christ as the Judge of the World. It shows angels, Mary, and John from around 1450. Wilhelm Richter-Rheinsberg heavily restored it in 1916.

The wooden altar dates from 1694. It displays an acanthus cartouche. Twisted columns frame the Last Supper. A wooden pulpit from 1702 features figures of Christ and the Evangelists. A delicate baptismal angel from around 1700 was restored. It became a kneeling figure. The wooden altar crucifix dates from the 16th century.

The west gallery has painted panels. It dates from the 17th century. It was renovated in 1911. The organ from 1863 has ten stops. Dieter Noeske restored it in 2005. Three carved figures from around 1470 stand on the south wall of the choir. They depict Madonna, Mary Magdalene, and a bishop. A carved figure of Anna selbdritt is on the north wall of the choir. All were newly painted.

Liturgical vessels include a brass baptismal bowl from the 16th century. There is also a silver chalice and a wafer box from 1807. A pair of pewter candlesticks dates from 1818. Three medieval bells date from the 14th to 16th centuries.

The Dorfkirche Lindenberg is more than just a building. It is a living chronicle of faith. Its walls echo with stories of generations past. Take a moment to appreciate the enduring spirit of this sacred place.
