Dongxiaokou wasn’t always the vibrant town it is today. Once a quiet part of Haidian District, it transitioned through various administrative shifts. It was briefly part of Shahe People’s Commune, then became its own commune, a township, and finally, the Dongxiaokou Area we know today. Imagine Dongxiaokou in 1958, a peaceful corner within Haidian. Then picture the change in 1959, absorbed into Shahe People’s Commune in Changping County. This constant evolution shaped Dongxiaokou into the unique blend of rural tranquility and urban connectivity it represents now. Dongxiaokou Area governs fifteen subdivisions.
