The Hangang River a lifeline provided fertile lands and strategic positioning. The area flourished under Baekje’s reign. Then the Goryeo Dynasty and eventually Joseon’s.
Noryangjin’s fertile plains and the chestnut forests of Yuljin provided sustenance. The Nodeulgang River another tributary of the Hangang. It connected this region to Hanseong Castle.
