Dongguan West Railway Station, also known as Dongguanxi Railway Station, stands at the intersection of Shuixiang Avenue and Wangcheng Road. Find it in Hongmei Town. Its Chinese name is written as 东莞西站.
This station features four platforms and eight tracks. It is a vital transportation hub. The Guangzhou–Huizhou Intercity Railway and the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway intersect here. The station facilitates easy transfers between these lines. A convenient transfer channel allows passengers to switch lines without rechecking.
Dongguan West Railway Station opened on December 15, 2019. It opened with the first stage of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway and an extension to the Dongguan–Huizhou Intercity Railway.
In the future, Line 1 of the Dongguan Rail Transit will serve this station. The metro station will be named Wanghong Station. The station has two levels. The lower level has east–west platforms for the Guangzhou–Huizhou intercity railway. It was the western terminus until the Guangzhou section opened on May 26, 2024. The upper level has north–south platforms for the Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway.
Guangdong Intercity Railway Operation Co., Ltd. took over the Guanghui Intercity operation on January 23, 2024. On April 23, security checks became mutually recognized. Passengers transferring between the Suishen and Guanghui sections no longer need to recheck.
If you are traveling to Shenzhen Bao’an Airport, Dongguan West Station is a convenient option. The Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway connects several Dongguan stations to Shenzhen Airport Railway Station. The trip takes only 20 to 75 minutes.
