Established in 1976, Dong Seoul College began its journey with a mere four departments and 880 eager students. Today, Dong Seoul College stands as a testament to its growth and evolution. Dong Seoul College’s first president, Park Yeou-soon, oversaw the construction of the first two buildings. He witnessed the birth of the Student Press, a platform for student voices. In the 1980s, Dong Seoul College celebrated its first graduating class of 625 students. The campus expanded with a Broadcasting Studio, a Computer Center, and more buildings. A Student Guidance Center was established, providing support and resources. The Institute of Industrial Technology marked Dong Seoul College’s dedication to practical, hands-on learning. The 1990s brought a name change to Haksan, reflecting a period of transformation. A new library and a Student Union building enriched campus life. The name Dong Seoul University was finally adopted in 1998. The Language Teaching Center signaled a focus on global communication.
