Established in 1976, Dong Seoul College began its journey with a mere four departments and 880 eager students. Today, Dong Seoul College stands as a testament to its growth and evolution. Dong Seoul College’s first president, Park Yeou-soon, oversaw the construction of the first two buildings. He witnessed the birth of the Student Press, a platform for student voices. In the 1980s, Dong Seoul College celebrated its first graduating class of 625 students. The campus expanded with a Broadcasting Studio, a Computer Center, and more buildings. A Student Guidance Center was established, providing support and resources. The Institute of Industrial Technology marked Dong Seoul College’s dedication to practical, hands-on learning. The 1990s brought a name change to Haksan, reflecting a period of transformation. A new library and a Student Union building enriched campus life. The name Dong Seoul University was finally adopted in 1998. The Language Teaching Center signaled a focus on global communication. The 2000s saw Dong Seoul College forging international partnerships with universities in China. The college’s commitment to workforce development earned recognition from the Ministry of Labor. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology also acknowledged the college’s efforts in improving educational capabilities. Dong Seoul College continued to thrive in the 2010s. It was recognized as a Class A University for the College Brand Support Project. The college’s commitment to educational excellence was consistently affirmed.
