The year is 1900. Imagine the Diocese of Dublin buzzing with activity. The Diocese of Dublin has always been a powerful seat within the Church of Ireland. It became even more so after the death of the last bishop of Glendalough. This led to the merging of the two dioceses in 1214. This unification was confirmed by Pope Honorius III in 1216. The Diocese of Dublin encompasses 95 parishes. Many of these parishes operate in unions. This reflects the evolving religious landscape of the region throughout the 19th century.
