“National relic” a term that echoes through time defines Đình Chùa Vàng. Today we stand before a place honored as a national relic since 1995. But let’s delve deeper into the story etched in stone and wood.

Đình Chùa Vàng is more than just a temple. It is part of a historical cultural and architectural ensemble. The Đình Chùa Vàng includes đình Vàng a place to worship a deity. This deity helped the Trưng sisters fight against the Han invaders.

Imagine this place during the Le Dynasty. Historical records are engraved on numerous stone steles. The earliest stele dates back to the Long Đức era in 1734. The temple is renowned for its intricate carvings and ancient statues. For generations Đình Chùa Vàng has been a place of reverence. Locals come here to express their beliefs.

In 1995 the Ministry of Culture and Information recognized its historical architectural and cultural value. Đình Chùa Vàng was officially designated a national relic. Prior to this in 1994 authorities had already proposed this designation. They also defined protected zones around Đình Chùa Vàng.

Area I spans 4752 square meters. It is bordered by residential houses to the east. To the west it meets a cooperative warehouse road and more houses. A district irrigation ditch marks the northern boundary of Đình Chùa Vàng. Area II covers 1297 square meters. It includes land belonging to the cooperative warehouse. These protected zones adhere to a map from 1974. This map outlines the protection area for Đình Chùa Vàng in Co Bi commune Gia Lam district.

Sadly Đình Chùa Vàng faced encroachment in 2020. Some villagers illegally cut down trees and demolished parts of the temple wall. This intrusion extended nearly two meters into Area II stretching over 70 meters. Despite official reports and proposed remedies these violations remain unresolved.

Even more concerning some have proposed converting Area II into a sports field. This proposal faces strong opposition from locals. They argue that the area is already well-equipped with sports facilities. This reflects a disturbing trend where a national relic is threatened.

Đình Chùa Vàng stands as a testament to our heritage. It embodies both tangible and intangible values. It represents the spirit of our community. Let us hope that authorities will soon act. They must restore the sanctity and integrity of this invaluable site.
