In 2011, it was reborn as a creative collective. “Die Metzgerei” was born, but this time with handmade designs. It offered a space for exhibitions and concerts after shop closing.
In 2013, creative minds transformed it into an extended living room. “Alte Schinken”, “Puzzle Vernissage” and “Die Videothek” became popular events. Locals were drawn to the cozy atmosphere. In 2014, raumpflegekultur e.V. was founded. Die Metzgerei became a cultural space for seven years.
The original Metzgerei was located on Haunstetter Straße. It closed its doors in 2020. But the spirit lived on. raumpflegekultur e.V. found a new home for Die Metzgerei. It was in the blue house on Klauckestraße.
The blue house itself has an interesting past. It was once a roofing company and stationery shop. For over three years, the post-war building stood empty. Its blue window frames and doors were the only striking features. This gave the name to the newest project: das blaue Haus.
The building was found in 2020. The pandemic caused delays. Renovation work uncovered original elements. Artists moved into the upper floors. In 2022, Die Metzgerei im blauen Haus opened its doors. It started serving art and culture.
