A group of parents, passionate about global education, established the Denver International School (DIS). Their vision was simple. They wanted a place where children could learn and grow in a multicultural environment. DIS initially operated from a local church, offering a French language program. Imagine the intimate setting, the echoes of French conversations filling the hallowed space. As the school grew, so did its need for space. In 1982, DIS moved to a larger facility on Holly Street. This marked a significant milestone, a testament to the growing demand for international education. The school’s reputation for excellence continued to spread. In 1990, the French Ministry of Education accredited DIS. This recognition solidified its place within a global network of French schools. DIS continued to evolve, adding Spanish and Chinese language programs in the early 2000s. This expansion reflected the school’s commitment to linguistic diversity and cultural understanding. Denver International School’s journey took a dramatic turn in 2009. The school merged with Montclair Academy, relocating to a spacious 6.4-acre campus in Lowry. This marked the birth of Denver Montclair International School (DMIS). The new campus provided a vibrant learning environment for a diverse student body. Representing nearly 30 nationalities, the students brought a rich tapestry of cultures and experiences to the school. DMIS quickly gained recognition as Colorado’s only certified Mandarin language proficiency test center. This further cemented its commitment to providing a high-quality international education. The school continued its expansion, opening a new middle school in 2011. This expansion paved the way for DMIS to become an International Baccalaureate World School. It adopted the Middle Years Programme for its students, further enhancing its academic offerings. In 2014, DMIS underwent another transformation. It officially became the International School of Denver (ISDenver), embracing a focus on global citizenship. A new Lower School building was also opened. This demonstrated the school’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art facilities for its students. ISDenver’s journey of growth and evolution is a testament to its commitment to providing a world-class international education.
