Đền thờ Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh is a relatively new addition to Ho Chi Minh City’s landscape. It was built to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Reunification Day. The main temple building, administrative house, and a three-entrance gate mark the area. A stele house, a water pavilion, and internal pathways complete the layout. The project spanned over 7,400 square meters and required an investment of approximately 82 billion VND.
Born in 1650, Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh hailed from Quảng Bình province in central Vietnam. In 1698, Lord Nguyễn Phúc Chu commissioned him to govern the southern lands.
